Our team has a wealth of experience within the different services we offer. With a combined 70 years experience we can offer a multitude of services for your every need. Our engineers and technicians are always happy to give advice and recommendations on the best possible appliances and equipment whilst maintaining a high standard of quality.
Our engineers are all fully qualified and conform to the latest safety standards and practices. The team is detailed below. When they call in to your house, business or property you will be able to place the friendly face!

David Barnes
MCIPHE RP
Managing DirectorDavid started the business in its first guise in 1985, and still enjoys playing a very active role, his responsibilities include carrying out quotations, and post installation quality control visits.

Lawrence Barnes
DirectorIntroduced to the industry by his father many years ago, Lawrence could solder a copper fitting before he could ride a bike! After a successful career as a service and breakdown engineer, Lawrence is now a director of the company and deals with managing all aspects, as well as sneaking out of the office occasionally to help a customer in need.

Richard Waite
Eng Tech
Works ManagerRichard has worked at DB Heating Ltd since the very beginning, a highly experienced engineer when he first joined, he now runs the installation scheduling side of the business. Richard has an admirable wealth of experience within the domestic and commercial sectors and has a profound ability to find solutions for even the most complex problem. Richards achievements extend as far as achieving membership of the UK Engineering council, aided by the chartered institute of plumbing and heating engineers. An incredible accolade and one we are very proud of.

Liz Tugwell
Office ManagerAnother member of the team since the very beginning, Liz is an expert in dealing with absolutely anything. A real credit to the company, Liz efficiently deals with logistics, organisation, wages, insurances, and vehicle management (amongst a plethora of other tasks).

Tilly Taylor
Accounts ManagerTilly is one of your first points of contact at DB Heating. Always keen to ensure our customers get the assistance they need, Tilly is an experienced Receptionist having worked in the UK and abroad when she spent 3 years travelling Australia and New Zealand. In her spare time, she can be found hiking and wild swimming with her Springer Spaniel, Lana.

Neil Fleet
Senior Service & Breakdown EngineerOne of the most qualified engineers you will come across, it’s hard to believe we ever managed without him! Neil has covered so many specialities within his career that we couldn't possibly list them all here, but we can tell you that we have yet to find a system he can't fix! Neil is passionate about developing his experiences, and despite being one of the most qualified engineers we have come across, he has recently undertaken further training to become a fully qualified electrician.

Alistair Milne
Service & Breakdown EngineerHaving fixed boilers from Lands End, to Bristol, Aly has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to diagnosing and fixing every kind of boiler you can imagine. A knowledge only outshone by his cheerful nature. A much respected member of the team, when he isn't at work, you will find him with his three miniature dachshunds, chasing chickens or feeding his pet crow that he kindly rescued as an abandoned chick.

Sean Conlon
Plumbing and Heating EngineerSean brings with him years of experience in the plumbing and heating industry, following a career in the military. With a broad skill set we are lucky to have him! As a family man and Dad of 4 boys, he is kept busy at home but likes to go carp fishing in his down time to relax and also coaches a local children’s football team.

Brendan Jones-Sly
Plumbing & Heating EngineerBrendan had 12 years experience in the industry before joining the DB Heating team and having run his own business with a loyal customer base, we feel very lucky to have him with his wide range of expertise. From repairing a boiler to fitting a kitchen, his attention to detail is always evident. Brendan also enjoys playing and watching football and is an avid supporter of Plymouth Argyle.

Dave Coles
Service and Breakdown EngineerDave joined our team having retrained, following a career as a mechanic in the military. He will put his brilliant mind to anything and is a keen problem solver. In his spare time, you might find Dave taking a plunge in the River Tavy of a morning or walking his English Bulldog on the moors.

William Muncey
Plumbing & Heating EngineerWilliam is an enthusiastic and intelligent engineer, having successfully completed our 4 year apprenticeship programme and climbed the ranks from there. Will has worked across all aspects of the business and already shows fantastic ability to self-manage and conduct thorough works from start to finish. William is looking forward to being able to further his knowledge of fault diagnosis and installation of complex systems.

Billy Rawlinson
Plumbing & Heating EngineerBilly is a success story of our apprentice training programme, and we are very proud of the level of work that he has developed to produce. From humble beginnings, Billy has grown into a very capable installer, and a brilliant plumber. Billy has gained a wealth of knowledge working with of the rest of the team over several years. Billy continues to exceed our expectations, and rises to every challenge.

Colin Philp
Bathroom & Kitchen InstallerColin is our in house bathroom and kitchen expert, with many year's experience in carpentry, tiling and bespoke building solutions. Colin revels in the challenge of making a masterpiece from whatever job he is given.

Sam Hepper
PlumberSam is a valuable addition to our installation team and an excellent plumber. He is always a joy to be around. Sam is always paying close attention to what's going on and soaks up information like a sponge!

Jack Horton
PlumberJack is another success story of our apprenticeship programme. A quick learner, he is constantly expanding his knowledge, and mastering new skills and puts everything in to his work. Jack is looking forward to passing his driving test, and putting his skills to good use taking on all manner of jobs.

George Anderson
Apprentice PlumberGeorge is one of the youngest in our team but he won’t let that or anything else hold him back! His enthusiasm is infectious and his willingness to learn and take initiative are impressive. Besides excelling in his skills, he is a pleasure to work with and our customers are always delighted with his professionalism as well as his workmanship. In 2023, George was selected from candidates all over the country to take part in a national plumbing apprentice competition, where he came 2nd! We couldn’t be prouder of him.
